User Account discrepancy?

On this sole user, no network, XP Home PC only 3 User Accounts are
shown in Control Panel>User Accounts, including Guest which is
disabled. But using the net user command in a Command Prompt window I
see no fewer than 9. I recall creating most of these myself while
experimenting a couple of years ago.

Why the discrepancy please? IOW, why 6 'missing'?

Hi,

Apart from the users that you create with user manager, Windows has its set
of users to function on the computer. They are all system accounts and you
need not worry about them and they are needed for certain types of
operations. Do not attempt to remove those accounts or else you will render
your system unusable.

Thanks, but why are some of those I'd created myself not shown on the
log-on screen?

No one with any insight into this please?
