The other day i had to do a system recovery because my computer wouldnt start up, i had 3 accounts on the computer prior to this, afterwards all the accounts were obviously gone from the welcome screen. The first account (no passward, no privacy) was remade under the same name, the desktop background and icons were all back to original format and what not, but i still have all my files from my documents on the hard drive --c/program files/document and settings, under which all of the original accounts folders were there ( i didnt know as of this point), so i tried to retrieve my 2nd account, when i did this i made a new account just like before, used the same name and it even autmatically had the same icon (personal one not default) , but the desktop was all different and i came to find so were all the files in my document (on the new account (same name) they were all the default folders and files) i eventually found the original folder under documents and settings (had the original name, while the new one had this name on the welcome screen and undr user accounts, in the document and settings folder it had additional characters added on) my dilemna being....i can access my origninal account folder because it says access is denied , the account was password protected ( i know the password) and also i had check the privacy option for non-sharing, which is where my problem lies...is there anyway to undo this option so i can get my files from the original folder? any help would be great thanks!!
cliff notes: is it possible to access a user account folder that has been made private, since the account no longer shows up on the welcome screen or under user accounts? if so, how? (use xp home
any advice is greatly appreciated thanks!
