Useful: Transparent Screen Lock

Looks more like spam to promote someone's $25 product. If you want to
lockup your computer while you are away, why do you care if the screen
is visible or not? Just define a shortcut or programmable key on a
keyboard to:

%windir%\system32\rundll32.exe user32.dll,LockWorkStation

See Microsoft's KB article 313884. From their web site, "monitor
incoming messages, while restricting access to your computer". So what?
To monitor means YOU are there at your computer. This author has a
problem with roving gangs of thugs kicking him out of his chair and
physically taking over his computer? If you're walking away from your
computer and want it locked up immediately as you leave then YOU won't
be seeing anything on the screen, anyway! If you want a display showing
some animated sale promo and don't want the public doing anything with
the system, well, just remove the keyboard and mouse.

Thanks for you message (even though it sounds like you are either
an angry person of just plain having a bad day). Yes Spam is a big
problem but lets not take this too far. If I had mentioned that
I had seen a great movie (on another group of course) would you
get angry and call me a spammer?

In any case, the showroom demo example is excellent. Removing
the keyboard and mouse does the trick but what if something goes
wrong? What is the sales dude got someone interested and wants to
show more than the running script? Should everyone have a keyboard
and mouse on them. (Do you carry a keyboard or mouse on you all the
time - oh maybe I shouldn't ask you but many do not...)

I'm sure if you had spent any time in the real world of trade shows
and customers you would find this app interesting. Locked in your tiny
cubicle you would not need this thing. All you really need is that
box of crackers behind your desk.

Take a deep breath - SMILE - stand up and look over your partition.
There is a beautiful world out there. BE HAPPY!

Have a good day! I really do mean that!
