use value not formula in IF statement

I'm using a basic IF formula =IF(j2=i2,"yes","no") but i2 has a Vlookup
formula. Can I use the If statement above to use the value of the formula and
not the formula?
 
If you refer to a cell with a formula in another formula it will use the
value and not the text string of the formula
 
The formula naturally works on the resultant value of the formula, not the
formula itself.
