I have an old CPU running W98, I plan to install Ubuntu at some point!

Is it possible to use my laptop running XP Pro as the keyboard and monitor
for the old CPU?

If so how would i go about this? Cables needed etc
regards x

you can add external KB /monitor etc. TO a laptop ...but AFAIK you cannot go
the other way (although remote control may be a n option)

No, you can not a laptop as a monitor/keyboard for a Linux server. You can
set up the Linix server (Ubuntu) to be a monitorless/keyboardless server and
use the laptop as a "telnet" or "ssh" terminal.

Sorry, I missed the Ubuntu part. I'm not sure if UltraVNC has a Linux
server, but there are other VNC servers that you can run on the Linux box.
