I have to make two profiles to make this possible in outlook. That is
unuseful for me because I use one imap-server and two smtp-servers on my
laptop. This has to be so because from home I have to send mail with one
smtp-server and another smtp-server on the university/work. It is very
unpractical and I have to use webmail a lot because of this.

This is not a limitation of Outlook but a security feature of the SMTP
servers you are using. In general it will work with a single SMTP server as
long as you configure it to use authentication. Some SMTP servers however
require you to be on the same subnet or in other words; be connected to the
same network as the SMTP server. Again; then this will be a limitation of
the SMTP server and not Outlook.
