Hi,

I would like to know if it's possible to add sata drives to my existing
system which has all of the ide ports in use - can Win2k see and use all
of these?

thanks, Rob

Rob,
You will need to add an SATA controller card to your computer unless it
already has a built in SATA interface on the motherboard. You also need to
install the software drivers for the SATA controller card in order for
Windows to use the card. Make sure you pick a controller card that has
driver support for Windows 2000.

Two answers, depending on your motherboard.

On most motherboards, an unqualified yes.

On some motherboards, no. You can only have 2 IDE devices and 2 SATA
devices. In other words, if you enable the SATA controller you lose an IDE
controller.
