I cannot for the life of me get my HP psc 1200
series All-In-One printer to scan. It will print,
and copy etc, but I keep getting communication
error messages. The HP service site suggest
that the problem is with the usbscan.sys file
and that MS has a hotfix for this particular
problem. Where do I find this?

Thanks,

Al

Near as I can tell this is going to cost me 35.00 to solve
a software problem that both MS and HP admit is
there. That's just wrong!

Read the article carefully and thoroughly:

"....charges that are ordinarily incurred for support calls may be canceled
if a Microsoft Support Professional determines that a specific update will
resolve your problem".

Did you read this part??
[[Note In special cases, charges that are ordinarily incurred for support
calls may be canceled if a Microsoft Support Professional determines that a
specific update will resolve your problem. The usual support costs will
apply to additional support questions and issues that do not qualify for the
specific update in question.]]
