My usb ports are unstable, whenever I inject any device in it my computer
malfunctions and I am forced to hold in the power and shut it down. I can
however insert the device while the computer is off and use it when I turn
the computer back on. I can also remove the device while the computer is on
with no problem, it is just when i insert, my computer becomes unstable. Any
suggestions I would appreciate.

In a previous message you said that your compute is freezing when it's
inactive. Now your USB ports are unstable - with exceptions.

Can't wait for the next post.

My computer began to freeze today, whereas the usb problem has be around for
a while.

You may have a power supply problem. The computer's power supply might
not be able to provide enough power for the USB devices. You might try
a powered USB hub.

Open up the case and check the capacitors on the motherboard. If any
are bulging or leaking, they're bad.

Capacitors look like little soda cans.

Bad capacitors could cause both of your problems.
