USB not working

When I plug in a USB device on my new computer using XP home the computer beeps and knows it has been plugged in. In device manager I get the yellow not working mark. I try to reinstall the driver but am told that non can be found. This happens with all devices that were made for XP
Anyone help please. Dave Stevens. England
 
have you also tried installing the service pack? allot has changed since
then. there is a bug refering to the usb 1.1/2.0 problem within xp. try
fully updating your windows XP version for full compatibility. either that
or your USB port might be corrupted
