Hi,

I'm trying to make a USB memory stick working with Win XP embedded. The
plug-and-play ones, that work perfectly with Desktop XP seem to require a
driver on XP embedded, which don't seem to be available anywhere!?

I'm very thankful for any hints on how to get such a memory stick working!

Thanks!
Thomas

Try adding components like: "USB Mass Storage Device"

Thanks, but it's not available in the hardware list. Actually, the only
drivers that I have found in the entire list are for USB mice, keyboards
or joysticks(!).
Moreover, I cannot find ANYTHING on the web regarding that topic!

Thanks anyway!

Ahm...

I probably was not clear.... "your usb device is not installed because you
don't have this component in your image".
This component is present in Target Designer find it and add it to your
project.

Thomas,

You do not seem to work on your Configuration in Target Designer (XPe Dev
Tool) but rather struggling with Device Manager on your device. Is it true?
Then, not having access to the image sources (TD project), you won't be able
to do much. It may appear to be hard to add new driver/apps to your runtime
image.
Try contacting your device manufacturer first. They may be able to change
the image for you and will let you know how to reimage your device.

Also, you can try copying USB Mass Storage driver directly from your XP Pro
machine to your XPe image windows\system32\drivers directory (infs to
\windows\inf). This may work or may not work depending on what the driver's
dependencies have been included in the image by the manufacturer.

Hi,

that's right, I'm using a Wise ThinClient, with pre-installed win
embedded, so there's no way to include drivers in the image! I will try
that direct-cop-approach, though!

Thank you!
