On a clean XP-pro-SP2 install (! no windows update !), I make an
account with User rights. If I log in to this account, and put a
USB-memory stick in the PC (that has not yet been put into this
machine!), Windows will install the USB stick without prompts or
anything.
After running windows update (at least I think this is the problem),
when again a user puts in an unknown USB-memory stick, he/she gets
prompted to log in with administrator rights.
Can anyone confirm this is ont of the windows updates (Security
patches?)
Thanks
