I have 2 Dell XP Dimension Computers which are both performing beautiflly. I
have one difficulty which perhaps someone can shed some light on.
I have recently bought a Flash Memory Stick which works correctly on one
Compnter and not the other. I have tested the Stick on both machines. It is
recognised correctly on the Computer which works and not the other. I have
tested the USB Ports with other plugins (Broadband Modem) - works correctly.

The machine which is not working shows a red light on the stick for about 4
seconds and then just goes out.

The maching with is working shows a red light on the stick continuously
while in use.

Can anyone shed any light on this problem. The drivers USBSTOR are resident
on both computers

Sounds like a power issue. Even flash drives doesn't require
much power it might be the little bit that brings the overall
power for a group of USB ports beyond the limits.

Have you tried an USB port at the back side? The front side
ports might share their power with an internal cardreader. If
this is true, then the card reader would stop working at the
same moment as the flash drive.
