ports with a printer, keyboard/mouse and digital camera, it
always shuts down by itself and leave evrything that's
connected to it disabled. Sometimes it's seems fine but
when I try to transfer large file from my digital
camera(USB 2.0) to my notebook, a blue screen come out then
my PC restarts by itself. I don't know what to do. Can
someone here help me? Below are the specs of my notebook:

512MB ddr ram
30 GB HD
Windows XP home edition

Hi,

USB 1.1 Port does not support USB 2.0 Devices.

To workaround this issue, I recommend you reinstall USB Port in Windows XP.
To do so, follow these steps:

1. Click Start, Control Panel, Performance and Maintenance, and then System
icon.
2. This opens the System properties window.
3. Select Hardware tab and click Device Manager.
4. Click "+" beside the USB device you want to uninstall.
5. Right-click the USB device and select Uninstall.
6. Restart the system.

Windows will redetect the USB device on restart.

Also I suggest you ensure the USB port is enabled. By default, Window XP
tries to disable USB when a device is not used. Windows XP does this to save
power. This does not work under many circumstances. The USB devices fail to
wake up when called. To fix this problem, suggest ?Disabling power
management on the USB hub?, to do so use the steps below:

1. Click Start, and right-click My Computer.
2. Click Properties, then click Hardware.
3. Click Device Manager.
4. Double-click the Universal Serial Bus Controllers branch to expand it.
5. Right-click USB Root Hub, and then click Properties.
6. Click Power Management.
7. De-select the Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power
check box.

Note: If the Root Hub is listed twice in the Device Manger, perform the
steps 5 to 7 on the second entry.

8.Click OK, and close Device Manager.

This should resolve the problem.

First, only 30GB? Install more RAM, delete all
unnecessary progs, cut XP's fancy junk out. Second, you
have split USB which needs a powerbooster. Buy one. Your
digital hasn't enough power to go it alone. Third, why
are you trying to load all this on a notebook? What do
you think desktops and towers are made for? Get a top
line Athlon with a tower that can be upped by 150%. I've
upped mine by 180% without even increasing RAM. Life is
good when you don't nickle and dime yourself to death.
