I am running XP Pro w/SP2 and all the latest updates were installed today. I
have read the relevant posts and performed the steps in "USB Troubleshooting
#510575". When I try to install any MS or Logitech device, the device is
recognized, the wizard searches for a driver (weather needed or not) does not
find the driver locally (even with the driver disk installed, if needed) or
remotely (MS website) and ultimatley does not install the device. The
devices install properly and work fine on my secondary computer. Any
suggestions?? Thanks in advance for the help.

Have you tryed to uninstall usb hub in divice Mgr and rebooted pc and let it
load them back in?
had to this this myself not sure if it will help you with your problem.

Michael, yes I did that and it did not solve the problem this was a
suggestion in MS #510575. Thanks for responding!

Joe, I have looked at that website today and I notced a feature that searches
your computer and updates drivers. I dont know how that works if the device
is not installed but I am going to check it out tonight. Thanks for your
