USB Hub controller

Hi y'all. Lately, I bought a Sony mp3 player and the softwares seems 2 have
caused some problems on my computer. I can't connect USB HDs and mp3 players
on my computer anymore. A pop-up comes up saying an unrecognised HW was
connected to the computer. I've tried all the tricks and magic I can think
of, but there seems to be no change.
This is a cry for help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Tell what you have tried then, that way you'll save people from wasting time
by describing those things.
