Hi,

when I plug in my USB Hard drive, Windows XP recognizes
the drive and assigns it the G drive. But when I go to "My
Computer" the drive is not there and I have no way of
accessing that drive.
Can someone please help me with this problem?

Thanks,
Rob

Is it formatted? No version of Windows can 'see' an unformatted drive.

Right click on My Computer and select Manage. On the following screen,
select Disk Management. The external drive should now 'appear' on the right
hand side of the screen.

What does XP tell you about this drive?

Yes the drive has been formatted, it works perfectly on
other computers. When I select disk management it
freezes, "Disk Management is not responding". If I go to
Device manager, it say "This device is working properly".
But I still can't see the drive letter in "My Computer".

I have the same problem, exactly as stated, No drive shows up in My
Computer. System Administrator says I have a removable drive, correct size
and formatted, but a no show in My Computer. Am very interested in what the
fix for this is?!!
