USB flash memory key question

I have a USB memory key that I use to hold my random documents and such. When
I plug it in, XP automatically detects it and opens up a box that says "This
drive contains more than one type of media, What do you want Windows to do?"
and then gives me a list of options such as "Play media files using Real
Player" ... "View a slideshow of the images" ... and "Open folder to view
files using Windows Explorer".

The "Open Folder..." option is the one I always select, but it's the last
one in the list, so I have to scroll down and select it each time (I know I'm
lazy, but I have to do this a lot). Is there any way to get it to put this
option at the top of the list, or to get it to "always perform this action"
like it does with file associations? Thanks!

Go to 'my computer', right click on your removable drive, then select the
'autoplay' tab. Then for each item in the drop down list, click 'select an
actin to perform, then choose open.

Hope that helps.

Neil, you da man! Who da man? YOU da man!

Seriously, that worked like magic. It's exactly what I was looking for.
Thanks a lot!

Check to see if Autoplay is enabled for the drive letter that the USB
drive uses. If you get TweakUI, you can set which drives have autoplay
enabled or disabled. After getting the flash drive open in a window, I
found it helpful to create a shortcut do that drive on my desktop. It
seems to be easier to get it to open that way.
