In reference to Microsoft Knowledge Base Article 828012:

Write operations to an external storage device take a long time to complete

The only way to obtain the patch is to contact Microsoft as outlined in the article.

To resolve this problem immediately, contact Microsoft Product Support Services
to obtain the fix. For a complete list of Microsoft Product Support Services phone

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=fh;EN-US;CNTACTMS

NOTE: In special cases, charges that are ordinarily incurred for support calls may
be canceled if a Microsoft Support Professional determines that a specific update
will resolve your problem. The typical support costs will apply to additional support
questions and issues that do not qualify for the specific update in question.

| offer this fix.

Hi,

Thanks for the reply. So in my case, with an OEM license,
I can only call. Using the requesting support will not
work as the system rejects OEM numbers.
