Hi,

Not sure if this the right place to post the question. If not, can
anyone point to the right place to post?

Does anyone know hpw to do the following?

1) Every time a USB drive is plugged in windows pops up a window
asking what
you would like to do: Open a folder to view contents, print pictures,
etc. I'd like this window surpressed.

2) The first time a U3 USB drive is plugged in, I am told by windows I
have
to reboot. I do not have to reboot, things work just fine. This does
not
happen again if the same drive is plugged in on the same PC.

That function is called autoplay. From Start | Help and Support search on
autoplay for info.

Open My Computer, right click the drive, Properties, Autoplay tab. Change
the settings there.

With this tool you can deactivate this depending on
the drive letter or the drive type either for all
users or of the current user.

Yes, I've seen this effect too. We have to live with it...
