USB dirves failing to mount in multi-user environment

Greetings all,

I have an interesting situation: I have Windows XP WS in
a computer lab environment and I want the users to be
able to use USB Flash drives. As administrator,
everything works fine - insert drive, drive shows in My
computer, read and write to drive, remove drive. As a
student, the system recognizes a USB Mass Storage device
but fails to mount it as a drive.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Ed

An update:

One of the suggestions I was given, since this is a
networked environment, was the drive mappings are
different for admins and Students. I am still
investigating this, but I would think the USB drive would
pick another letter higher than F: if F: was currently
being used.

I still think it is a rights issue.

Thanks,

Ed
