USB Devices not detected on boot-up

I recently had a system crash where the PC wouldn't even boot. Eventually
got into safe-mode and restored the C: drive using Genie Backup Manager Pro.
This seemed to correct the problem, but now none of the USB devices are
detected on initial boot-up. Once it's powered up, if I disconnect and then
reconnect them, they are all detected correctly.
Any ideas anyone, thanks

Hi Rick,

Thanks for the advice. I disconnected all USB devices, unintalled all USB
controllers using the device manager, and rebooted. XP reinstalled the
controllers (PnP) and I then reconnected all the devices. All the devices
were recognised and installed, however when I rebooted again I had the same
problem.

I'm going to try installing latest mobo chipset drivers and BIOS update and
see if this makes a difference, but I'm not too hopeful. I'm starting
tobthink it's something to do with the restore process I had to carry out. I
reckon the boot process is now loading to a pre-restore version of some
process which has become corrupted.

Any other ideas gladly welcomed
Malcolm
