I wuld like to copy files from my XP laptop to 2k desktop
and my Genesys USB cable does not work, help

There's not much details of how you are attempting this so I am not sure if
you are just connecting the two machines via a USB cable and hoping that
you will see the other machine.

The simplest way to copy files from one machine to another would be to use
a USB thumb drive. The USB thumb drives are readily available at various
computer stores and are quite attractively priced especially for the lower
capacties (256MB or lower).

If you want to transfer really large files between two machines (say >256
MB), then you should network the two machines. Use a network card in each
machine (either PCI or even a USB) and then connect the two network cards
using a cross-over network cable.
