Anyone know how I can simply update installed XP USB drivers to USB 2.0
without having to first update to XP SP2? This is like, really time
consuming.
Thanks,
Phil.....

You don't mention if you've got any Service Packs at all installed. If you
have got SP1 installed, then USB 2.0 is supported by that already and you
don't need to update to SP2 although it's advisable from the security point
of view.

Thanks for the input. Guess I'll have to give the long version of the
answer. I need to install XP temporarily in order to do a restore of
the whole volume from a backup. XP is required to reload the
application (Retrospect 7.0) but only to preform the restore. My CD of
XP has no service pack, but I cannot find a way to load just the USB
2.0 drivers which speed up the restore from 3 hours under USB 1.1 to
about 30 min under USB 2.0. Any ideas?

Thanks again,
Phil....

Windows XP (reguraless of it’s servicse pack) has drivers for USB2.0
installed. Perhaps you need to install your chipset drivers for it to
work properly.

NOT true! XP only got the USB 2.0 drivers with Service Pack 1 (SP1). On XP
RTM (orginial), we only had USB 1.0 and 1.1 drivers.

Go to www.usbman.com and you will likely be able to download the usb
2.0 driver you need.
