Has anyone seen this problem?

I tried to uninstall programming that came with a US Robotics 56K modem. It
has left its scourge in my registry.
The string is: USRprbdA.exe
It recreates itsef and will not (simply) delete. I have found its location
in the registry but am unwilling at the moment to remove it.

(The driver string is USRprbda.dll)

The programming that came with the modem is sub standard and I would not
reccomend installing it. Its uninstall buggy is faulty. The "updater"
program is where the issue originates.

At issue is: What it creates as it executes(.exe) crashes my OS. When it
doesn't crash, it slows logoff significantly and creates lots of error
messages in the System Event Log files.

If I remove the .exe file and not the .dll file will the driver still operate?

Is anylone else seeing this issue?

USRPRBDA.EXE (U.S. Robotics Enable/Disable Probe). U.S. Robotics device
support utility.. why would you want to uninstall it.. if your modem is
working ok, it would be better to leave it that way and not uninstall any
part of the support software..

I am having very similar issues. I get a shutdown error everytime about
USRprbdA.exe and how the dll could not start because the computer is shutting
down. It's more annoying than anything else, but when I spend alot of time
making sure my computer is running smoothly I often wonder if it's even worth
the effort anymore.
