spadluigi,
Some program (usually spyware\parasite) may have overridden the URL prefix
setting?
Open Regedit to the following locations and verify the below default
entries:
Start | Run (type) "regedit" (no quotes)
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVers
ion\URL\DefaultPre
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVers
ion\URL\Prefixes]
"ftp"="ftp://"
"gopher"="gopher://"
"home"="http://"
"mosaic"="http://"
"www"="http://"
Note: edit as needed, *always* Export before editing.

Someone please help. Whenever I enter a web address in
the address bar, I get this error:
! We can't find "whatever.com"
You can try again by typing the URL in the address bar
above (which I had just done!!!) Or, search the Web:
Then, it'll say, "Did you intend to go to one of these
similar Web addresses?" And it will list a bunch of
addresses, INCLUDING THE ONE THAT I HAD JUST TYPED IN THE
ADDRESS BAR!!!
Has anyone had that problem? It happens with EVERY URL I
type.
