urlmon.dll problem

I had an older version of Explorer and suddenly it
wouldn't display any pictures, and when I tried to search
in Google I got an error message about the "urlmon.dll"
file. I tried downloading Explorer 6 and my pictures came
back. I can also search in MSN, Go.com, Dogpile.com, etc.
But when I try to use Google or Yahoo search engines I get
a message that says "Microsoft Internet Explorer has
encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for
the inconvenience." When I look at the details of the
error report the ModName says "urlmon.dll", so I know it
is still dealing with that same file. Any ideas?

Disable your anti-virus application and go to
http://v4.windowsupdate.microsoft.com for needed updates.

Please try the following sequence of events to attempt to fix the problem:
1. Uninstall all IE and OE updates from add/remove programs (e.g. q813489)
2. Uninstall OE and IE from add/remove programs
(http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;293907)
3. Re-install IE6sp1 from Windows Update
4. Re-install all critical updates from Windows Update
