Run this command on XP Home to reset the TCP/IP stack, then reboot:

netsh winsock reset catalog

If you get an error message saying that the command is unknown,
download LSPFix.exe on another computer, copy it to XP Home, and run
it to reset TCP/IP:

what i'm going to do is download xp home trial and repair with my serial no.
it that ok

I have some questions that will help answer your question.

What is a "trial" version of XP Home? I'm not familiar with that
term.

What do you mean by "download"?

Do you mean that you've found a version of XP Home on the Internet?
Microsoft doesn't make any version of Windows available for
downloading from the Internet. Any web site that lets you download
Windows isn't OK. Such software is probably counterfeit and infested
with viruses.

Do you mean that you're going to do a repair installation from the XP
Home CD-ROM that came with your computer? That's OK. Before doing
that, check your current XP Home version in the My Computer
properties. If the CD isn't the same version (e.g. you have Service
Pack 2, and the CD is XP original version), re-install the service
pack immediately after doing the repair.
