Dear all,

I am writing to all of you cuz something is majorly wrong
with my IE 6.0. I have upgraded so SP2 and the error
remains (Have the error before SP2).

here is the problem:

When I open IE 6.0 on Windows XP Home (with SP2), it is
fine. However, once i use the fucntion "OPEN link in new
windows" the new windows pops up fine BUT the address bar
cannot be displayed correctly. Instead of the web page's
address, it will display as the graphic behind the
address bar. I mean let's say if the background is a
wallpaper, the address bar of the "open the link as" will
duplicate that graphic on the address bar and unable to
display the web address.

What is going on? When I close the Internet Exploror's
windows, it will ALWAYS have this error message:

"The instruction at "0x7c9105f8" referenced memory
at "0x00cc0010", The memory could not be "read" Click on
OK to terminate the program IEXPLORE.EXE -Application
Error"

Can someone help please?

I am greatly appreciated.

Hi,
This may be a malware problem. Work through the solutions (CWShredder,
Ad-aware, Spybot) at
http://mvps.org/winhelp2002/unwanted.htm Also note the security tips on that
page.

Your problem also sounds a little like the transparent or blank new window
problem. Try working through these pages:

Hope this helps,

I checked the system with spybot S&D
and no spybots are in my pc.

any other suggestions please?

Try CWShredder and Ad-aware.

A long shot, but for XP SP2 only, go to Start> Run> type in or copy and
paste this line
iexplore.exe /rereg
Hit Enter. This will reregister all IE DLLs. Some of your settings may be
changed.

Don

bump once, please help if there are other solutions since
spybot S&D has searched and no spybot in the pc.

ok, i did the iexplore.exe /rereg
and it still give the address bar error, i wil go ahead
and try to run CWShredder and Ad-aware...
Hope that will fix the problem, thx for your help, please
check in case I write back. thank you so much Sir.

OK, I opened IE, Option, SETTING, VIEW OBJECT...
and i see that this file that was installed in my PC is
listed as "DAMAGED"
This file is C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\IUCTL.DLL Damaged.

Could this be the reason? (Afterall, it never happened
prior to this)
