hi there,

how about a System Restore? or better yet, do you have an earlie
saved version of the file? like on a floppy or CD? saving often wil
usually halt issues like this. you're prob'ly outta luck

Hi
any chance you saved this file directly to a floppy disk?
If you're probably out of luck if you don't have a backup.
You may try to repair this file with using OpenOffice
(www.openoffice.org). OpenOffice is sometimes quite
capable of openening broken Excel files.

And if you have stored your file directly to a floppy:
Don't EVER do this again in the future. This is the cause
for many corrupted files :-)

You could try the download from www.recovermyfiles.com. Do a "Complete
Search" for XLS files, but also add your "C:\" folder to the search. This
way as well as searching for deleted files it will also search to see if it
can find any active temporary files on you PC which may contain the data.
The demo has a full preview of XLS files so you will be able to see the
results before you decide whether it is worth registering.

Good luck
