Hi Access-Champs,

Thanks in Advance
I have one Access 2000 database which is giving me error while opening as
follows :

"Microsoft jet database engine has stopped the process because you and
another user are attempting to change the same data at the same time."

Which is not true. I am working on stand alone machine.

Pls help, how to recover it and open this database. My valuable 3 years
records are there.

Best Regards
Sanjay Pawar

1) Shut down Access and make sure no other instances of it
are running without you noticing.
2)Use windows explorer to examine the directory/folder where
your database .mdb file is located. Look for a file with
the same name as your database but the suffix .ldb rather
than .mdb.
2)Delete that .ldb file if it exists.

If there is no .ldb file in the same directory as your
database then try Tony Toews page
http://www.granite.ab.ca/access/corruptmdbs.htm

Failing that then follow Alex's seggestion and go to PK.

Good luck

THREE YEARS OF WORK AND NO BACKUP? Shame on you!

In the location of your database you will find a copy with the LDB extension
instead of MDB. Delete the LDB. Always work on a copy of the database.
Working on the original may make it impossible for a repair service to fix
it.

Download a copy of JetComp.exe:

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;273956

Also have a look at the Microsoft KB article:

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;209137

Then have a look at Tony Toews' Access Corruption FAQ at:

http://www.granite.ab.ca/access/corruptmdbs.htm

for some suggestions. Unfortunately, some corruption cannot be fixed - you
may need to create a new database, import what can be salvaged, and recreate
the rest.

Although it's a paid service, Peter Miller does an outstanding job of saving
corrupt databases. Try this URL:

But what has happened to the nice people of pksolutions ?
I registered a database with deleted tables 2 weeks ago. So far, not a
sound from them (except for an automatisk email receipt).
I have mailed them twice and tried to call them only to find that their
phone and fax numbers seems to out of working order.

Sorry about any spelling mistakes. English is not my native language.

Peter Miller has been contacted via email. He apparently is out of town,
traveling. Apparently, there is a problem with his phone system not properly
forwarding calls. Keep trying, maybe he can get it fixed soon.
