Hi friends,

i face big problem that i cannot logon winxp home.
since, i uninstall office2000 and run the utility (Eraser2k) download from
MS.
After that, i reboot the pc and get the warn message
about:
logonui.exe - error
"0x01009b49" ..........."0x000000008" ................."read"

=> button "ok" and "cancel"

so, i click several times on "OK" / " Cancel" button
it shows the "longon windows" screen.
but, i haven't set it before. and it needs me input the user name and
password. so, i cannot logon it : <

how can i recovery this problem?

Thanks you so much

Anyone can help me?
Thanks.

i had try to type Administrator in safe mode and leave password blank.
but it doesn't work also.

Looks like you are going to have to reinstall XP.

Office 2000 had too many integrated files that tore up XP when you deleted
it using Eraser2k.

Next time use the Add Remove programs that comes with XP.

Thanks for your reply.

so, is it possible i reinstall in the same directory?
since, i had lots of important files there : <

If you have a retail version of XP, you can do a Repair using the XP CD,
Boot with the XP CD and do an install, going thru the various windows until
you pass the EULA agreement, and then selecting Repair.
This will save programs already installed by you.

yes, i go to repaire it by selecting "R" .
but it ask me to input the location
c:\windows. then the user name: administrator and password :
in the text-mode.
i still cannot pass this stage.
how can i do?

that's urgent......we gotta get our priorities in order, plus learn how to
post a descriptive header...not just 'urgent help"...come on.....you little
sister could do better....and then you post this stuff to every newsgroup on
the planet.....ssssshhhhhh

You're pushing the wrong "R". At that point, you should just go ahead
and tell it to install Windows. As the last poster mentioned, after you
agree to the Eula agreement, you will have a choice between a clean
install or a "Repair" install. That's where you pick the repair
install.

Thanks for your mention. i'll try it.

Could i copy the registration files from another good state of PC (winxp
home) instead ? for examples, ntuser.dat....... and overwrite to my problem
PC.
how can i get the related information (the registration location)? if it is
possible.

Thanks you so much for all of your help !!!

No. You cannot copy files from your other PC. You will definitely hose
your system if you do this. Try the Repair Install as suggested and if
that doesn't work, you will need to do a format and clean install. Here
are links to information on both types of installations:

Good luck,

Malke
