Yesterday afternoon the system crashed and when we all
went back online Outlook was 'unable to display the
folder' when I clicked on Inbox. I set about using the
inbox repair tool which didn't cvome to fruition, after
opening outlook I was told I could create a new
destination for incoming e-mail, and did so. Now I have
lost all the e-mails in the Inbox and they are extremely
important. We are a moderately-sized business but we rely
on e-mail. How can I get these back?

Thanks,

Trevor

You may have exceeded the 2 GB limit of Outlook.

Creating a new .pst file is the reason you lost all of
the old info, you started fresh and this may be a problem.

There are a couple of tools you can try in order to
retrieve the old mail.

Using the search tool in the start menu, search all files
and folders (including hidden and system files)for *.pst

If there are more than one .pst file, one of them may be
your old files. Check file size, if it is large it is
your old ones, if it is small it is the new one.

If your old one it there, you have to use the "inbox
repair tool" to fix it.

If it is over 2 GB and the inbox repair tool does not
work, then you need to use a 2 GB Truncation Tool
(available on microsoft.com) to reduce the .pst file size
and then run it through the inbox repair tool at the
smaller size.

Good Luck
