I'm locked out of my Original windows XP installation. If I install a clean copy on another partition is there a way for me to get my user/security profile so I can regain access to my encrypted NTFS partition?

Hi

As you have access to the user profile folders for the user that
encrypted the files and if you remember the password for the user
that encrypted the data, you might be able to save the files.

Take a look at this site for more details:

Only if you previously made a backup copy of your encryption key.
If not, you'll not be able to decrypt those files.

Hi

That is not correct in all cases...

What do you mean by saying you are locked out ??
What we call lock out of accounts is a temporary thing,
and after a time the account will be unlocked.
