I have a wireless 802.11b network running, and one of the laptops has a
802.11g card. Sometimes it connects properly with no problems, but most of
the time it will assign the wrong IP address: 169.254.__.__ when it should
be 192.168.1.___. I tried manually setting it to the 192 address and it
still didn't work. What can I do to fix this problem? Thanks,

Gaurav

Hello!

My experience with wireless gadgets are problem between different brands.
Netgear and d-link and 3-com is not a good idea to mix. Buy one brand and
everything will work. Remember that not all standards can talk to each
other.
