is solved for sometime but again the same noises starts
coming i have checked my hard disk there is no bad sector
no nothing i took my pc to hard ware store they checked
it and said there is nothing wrong with it. please help
me with thats is there something wrong with the windows
Xp ? or something else :S

i am fed up of this problem i have re-installed my whole
softwares four five times this week :(

The hd spins consistantly at 7,200 rpm or if its an older unit
at 5400 rpm, they do make some noise, try reataching the hd,remove
the 4 screws,maybe even select a diffrent slot.Why not purchase a 2nd
hd,use as storage, thier around 60- 85.00.Windows has no bearing in
this subject, reinstalling it is wasting youre time, windows is 100% software.

I would go to the manufactories web site for your hard drive. Most of them offer a hard drive program that is customized for there drives. Don't use the windows program for the hard drive test. I use the Maxtor hard drive program to check there drives. I think your drive might be on its way out. Do you have smart drive turned on in your bios. Smart drive will warn you that the drive is on the way out. I have seen this happen. I sent the drive back to Maxtor and they sent me a new one for no charge because it was still under warrenty.

Good Luck

Try to put the HDD in a vertical position till you get another one -
assuming this one is out of warranty.
