Beth

I'm currently still running Win98 and using FP2k. I'm
looking to upgrade to either XP or Win2k but fear
conflicts. Will I be ok? Should I upgrade to FP2002?
(didn't even know there was a version 2002!) I want to
do it right but remember hearing horror stories early
only about FP and XP etc. Any advice is greatly
appreciated.
:o)
Happy Holidays!

Hi Beth....

I am using FP 2000 on both Win 2000 pro and xp pro and have had next to no
problems..... hummm.. now that I think about it I'm not sure I've had any
with FP.

Best to you......

FP 2003 is now out. I recommend upgrading to it and WinXP Pro.

I'm not so sure:

You might be able to get a bargain on 2002 and;

The vast majority of web servers are Apache and;

There are no and will be no 2003 extensions for Unix and;

It seems that many or most of the new features in FP2003 require
2003 extensions which very few servers will be running.

There are no 2003 extensions for any operating system. With 2003, Microsoft
has completely dropped the Server Extensions. FP 2003 will still work with
FP2002 (and I think FP2000) Server Extensions.

There are NO FP 2003 server extensions for any platform. Suggest you do
some research.

Yes, 2000 extensions will work, Jack. I, like many others, have refused to
upgrade to FP 2002 extensions because of their many quirks ;-)

....BTW, the 2000 extensions come with XP Pro, and can be installed as an
option when installing IIS 5.1
