Upgrading XP

Hey I am a tech guy at a Staples in PA. I am upgrading a
gentleman's computer to XP from ME. I can't figure out it
keeps stopping the insallation when there's 20 minutes
left and its on the finalizing install part. Its not
froze, it doesnt even bother to read the CD anymore. I
also had to pull about 8 DLL's off another PC cause it
asked for Service Pack 1, which I didnt have. His machine
is able to handle XP, I just dont know whats up with it.
