I have Windows XP Home edition. Can I upgrade to XP
Professional? What is the cost? Microsoft.com has no
answer on their upgrade section, big suprise! I need
Internet Infomation Services (IIS). Is there a way to
use IIS with XP Home? Microsoft says there are other
ways to use IIS besides XP server and XP Pro but not
specifically.

Tim,

Yes, you can. You need to purchase a retail XP Pro Upgrade CD.
I think the cost is about $199.
Try to get one that is already updated to SP2.

The only other way I know to run IIS is on Windows 2000.

That is probably an OEM version, which will NOT do the upgrade. Be careful
to get a full retail or retail upgrade version.

You'll need to buy an XP Pro upgrade CD.

Do you really need IIS, or do you just need a web server? You can get
Apache server for free (http://httpd.apache.org/), it will run just
fine on WinXP Home Edition.

That's an OEM license, which will _not_ be able to perform an
upgrade.
