I'm trying to upgrade Windows ME to Windows XP
Professional. In the set up process I'm getting this
message and am unsure how to proceed:

-To setup windows on the selected item press enter
(C:Partition/[Fat 32])
-To create a partition in the unpartitioned space press C
-To delete the selected partition press D

Can someone help me? Thanks!

If you are doing a NON-DESTRUCTIVE upgrade, don't boot from the CD.
Boot into Windows ME, put in the Windows XP CD, and choose to upgrade.

If you want a Dual Boot, then choose the first option, you will then have a
boot menu when yo are done and should be able to boot into Windows ME or
Windows XP.

If you are wanting to install Windows XP from scratch, delete the
partitions, create a new one, continue with the install. (ALL FILES NOT
BACKED UP - GONE..)

If you purchased a cheaper version of Windows XP that came wrapped in
cellophane on a cardboard sheet, then you got yourself an OEM copy - an
upgrade is out of the question.
