Hi

Im trying to upgrade from ME to Windows XP. After a few minutes of upgrading it says that my Nvidia G-Force MX 440 needs additional files. Then after the setup finishes upgrading a black screen appears and nothing happens and I can't get into Windows XP. I have some ideas what might have caused this problem

1. I have to video card

2. I only have drivers for Windows ME installed not XP

Can anyone help me

Matt

Matt;
Do you mean "two" video cards?
Remove one, I suggest the Nvidia G-Force MX 440.
While at it remove any non essential cards and disconnect all
peripherals, printer, camera scanner etc.

Have you made sure the computer is ready for windows XP?

Matt:

Switch to VGA mode while doing the upgrade. This will eliminate driver
conflicts. When done switch to your Nvidia card and resolve its conflicts.

Hi,

I can't install XP with the old one because it has some damage because my
Nvidia one couldn't fit. When I go to Display Properties and Settings
Windows ME still detects the old one but when I try to use the old one it
doesn't work. Any other help?
