upgrading to windows xp home edition

I have windows 2000 on my machine and i want upgrade to windows xp home edition

the set window say i can not upgrade my windows 2000, to xp.

Not to XP Home. ONly to XP Pro.

Make sure you're aware of the differences between Pro and Home before you go
installing Home. If you're used to 2000, XP Home may be a bit weak for you.

That's correct. Win2K can be upgraded to WinXP Pro only. If you
want to use WinXP Home, you'll have to format the hard drive and
perform a clean installation using a full (not the upgrade) version of
WinXP Home.
