Your PST files are probably still there - do a search for *.pst and make
sure you search hidden/system folders as well.
General advice-
When doing upgrades, it is always wise to back up your data first. I
personally don't like to leave anything in the default data folders Windows
suggests - I create a data folder on the hard drive, redirect My Documents
to it, and move all my files there. For PST files, with Outlook closed, move
the PST file to that new folder (e.g., c:\data\outlook) and rename it
yourname.pst to avoid confusion - then open Outlook and when it says it
can't find the file, direct it to the new location.
Other programs such as Intuit software seem to insist on putting their data
in the program files folder created by Quicken or Quickbooks - I manually
move those files over, too.
This way, you have only one folder (c:\data) to worry about backing up - you
won't get absolutely everything you used, such as IE favorites, etc., but
you'll get most of what you need.
