upgrading motherboards with windows xp

Hi
I'm Upgrading my workstation with a new motherboard and processor. The existing motherboard is an intel chipset, and the new one is a via chipset.

Is there a tool that I can use to easily upgrade, without re-installing windows xp
I have tried this previously with another machine, only to have it blue screen on startup

If the motherboard is pretty new (after XP came out) you will need to load the via chip drivers that should have come with the mother board, or online.
