Will Windows XP Home Upgrade (not full version) do an install if your previous operating system was NT 4 Workstation, or do you need a move current OS to upgrade from?

You cannot use Home Edition to upgrade Windows NT 4.0 Workstation.
You require the upgrade version of Windows XP Professional.

Sorry, no.

It's not a matter of currency. You can upgrade from NT4
Workstation to Windows XP *Professional*, but not to XP Home.
