I upgraded from windows me to windows xp professional. I
currently have a cd burner but lost the software during
the upgrade because xp did not come with it(me did). Do
I now have to go out and purchase more software or is
there a way to pull it off of the old me recovery disk.

Correction - ME did /not/ come with any CD burning software. You bought a
computer and the manufacturer included the burning software. XP has basic
burning software that will allow you to copy files to CD, however for more
flexible features you would need to purchase a third party product, such as
the latest Easy CD or Nero.
