Upgrade without overkill

I'm running an older Plll 933 with 512 ran on XP Home upgrade. Video is
Intel 8280OE chipset and I would like to upgrade the video card without
overkill or stretching my existing OS. Is this possible and what video card
should I consider?

What you gonna use the card for?

If you want to be able to play the newer games like HL2 and Doom3 you'll
need at least an ATI 9600. I doubt your CPU would play ball though.
