I reformat my comuter on a regular basis for various
reasons. I currently have a windows 98 full version, and
I am wondering, if I buy the windows xp upgrade version,
every time I format do I have to first install Windows 98
and then upgrade, or can I just install XP.

Pros and Cons:

Upgrade:
Pro: Less expensive
Con: You need a qualifying product such as Win98 or WinME. ( Don't
lose your old OS CD )

Full Version:
Pro: No need for qualifying product ( no prolbem if you lose the old
OS CD )
Con: More expensive.

You do not need to install 98 first, you will be prompted to insert the 98
CD during XP setup.
Illustrated in the link below.
You boot from the CD and do a clean install.
Click on or copy and paste the link below into your web browser address bar.
