Does anybody know how to upgrade to XP Pro from XP Home?
Does it require a complete format/reload or can you run a
setup program that will do the upgrade like it does when
you go to Pro from say, Windows 2k? any ideas or coments
welcome! Thanks!

Tim;
You can do an upgrade using either Windows XP Pro full or upgrade
version.
Data should be safe, back-up important data just in case.

I just happened to do that very same thing today. My XP-
Home was unbootable and so I installed WIN-XP Pro and
choose not to format the hard drive. (That's an option).
I installed XP-Pro in the same partition as XP-Home. Now
when I boot it gives me the option to go with the old non-
bootable version or WIN-XP Pro. Now all I have to do is
remove he non-bootable version,

John

Hi Tim,

An upgrade can be accomplished here. Make sure you have
backups of your data. This upgrade is irreversible
meaning you cannot go back to XP Home without a format
and reinstall.
