Last wk I upgraded the motherboard and memory.
Made backups of all my data; deleted all Norton Programs and made sure I
had all the programs I needed to install
Last night I upgraded from 98SE to XP Pro
Selected NEW installation
Converted from FAT32 to NTFS
All went well; no crashes, etc.
However it seems to have saved most (all?) of the Program Folders / Files
for all the previous programs, and other various folders I know are from the
previous 98SE state. None of those programs show up in Add / Remove
Programs.

I thought the old folders / files would all be gone.

My questions: Do I just delete the Folders / Files for the old programs and
reinstall what I want, or is there a safer way? I don't want to make my new
installation unstable. (My goal was to start with a new / clean system, I'm
concerned there is a lot left over from these other programs.)

Thanks for any help you can provide.

Put your Windows cd in your cd drive and restart the computer, if asked doot
from cd.Reformat your hardisk and do a fresh install.

Will I run into driver issues for my CD to boot after the format, or will
the fact that xp is already there allow me to boot from the cd to initiate
the fresh install? Can I test that?

Will I have to hunt down the reformat command, or will that be an option
when I reboot from the cd?

Thanks.

Done; Thanks.
